At 13, you are still growing and improving your skills so I recommend getting season long rentals. Most good ski shops have them and the equipment will typically be less than 2 years old, and in better condition than anything on mountain. Check prices but generally if you ski more than 6-8 time a season it will be your cheapest option.

See you on the snow.
Reply:E Bay is a good bet, like one of the previous answers said. At certain times during the year ski shops will sell their supplies of demo skis, which is another good way to get good skis at a good price. That will also be good for your age, because if you keep the skis for a while and your foot grows causing you to buy new boots, demo skis usually have the adjustable bindings since different people used those skis in the past.

The biggest thing when buying new gear is boot fit. You want to put more money into great boots then great skis, but that might not be the case for someone who has limited money and a growing shoe size. Why buy a great set of boots that doesn't fit well (causing you to sacrifice control) or a boot with great fit that you will grow out of in a year? So in that sense, rentals or demos really might be the best thing for you. The HUGE plus is that you'd get to try different equipment, really find out what is the best thing for you. Diferent brands feel different on the snow. I love salomons, but not Rossis. Some people are the reverse. If you have a package where you can try all the brands, you will learn what works best for you.
Reply:play it again sports
Reply:evo gear.com
Reply:yea, go to like ski sales or something..i got 700 dollar racing skis for 200 dollars last year.
Reply:find out if there is any ski swaps going around where you live
Reply:Ok, go to www.evogear.com and www.backcountry.com

they have some pretty good prices on last years skis and boots.
Reply:All the sites these people have been mentioning are great. I've bought many skis from several of those sites. I also wanna remind you that you should go to a mountain resorts demo shop and ask them if they have and old models they need to sell. You can usually get a great bargain on a previous seasons model. The bindings are demo bindings so they're adjustable so you or a friend can use them all in a day.
Reply:Ebay, Craigs List or a ski swap. Make sure you don't get someone's 10-year old crappy straight skis.
